11/08/2026 - 73nd Anniversary of the Death of Tazio Nuvolari

A profound sense of emotion and an atmosphere of great solemnity enveloped our city today.

The commemorative ceremony honoring the immortal Tazio Nuvolari, held 73 years after his passing and jointly organized by ACI Mantova and the Tazio Nuvolari Museum, took on an even more special and poignant significance this year. The memory of the “Flying Mantuan” is, in fact, intertwined with the celebrations marking the Centenary of the Automobile Club Mantova, a century of excellence in which Nuvolari himself served as its beloved President from 1946 to 1953.

The tribute to the champion took place in an atmosphere of deep respect and participation at the Monument in Largo Pradella, with the solemn laying of a laurel wreath. Adding further prestige to the occasion was the presence of His Excellency the Prefect of Mantua, Roberto Bolognesi, Councillor for Sport Stefano Simonazzi, representing the City of Mantua, as well as representatives of all civil and military institutions.

Providing a magnificent backdrop to this tribute was a large gathering of citizens, enthusiasts, and historic vehicles—true automotive jewels that helped evoke the fascination and roar of the engines from an epic era in motorsport history.

Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who attended and once again came together to honor the legend of a man who carried Mantua in his heart and brought its name to the world. The bond continues. The legend lives on!
