Cisitalia-Abarth 204A sold at Motostalgia auction

This Cisitalia-Abarth 204A is the last car driven by Tazio Nuvolari and it was sold at Motostalgia auction  in Austin, Texas, the last 16th of november, during the Grand Prix of the Americas. In this picture you can see it when it was exposed in the museum exhibition, lent by his last owner, Mr. Sergio Lugo.

Internet hits to choose name of new Ferrari F1 car. Tazio or Nuvolari can be choosen.

The name of the Scuderia’s car for 2014? It will be chosen this coming January by millions of Ferrari fans from around the globe through the Internet. President Luca di Montezemolo announced the news at the traditional pre-Christmas dinner with the Italian motor sport media at the Fiorano circuit.
Ferrari has always made good use of its website, and indeed the Scuderia was the first F1 team to present its new car on line, back in 1996. Once again this year, the new car launch proved very popular, with 83,000 all on-line at the same time, a figure almost equal to those who watched the wedding of William and Kate live (87,000) from 158 different countries.
The Scuderia’s official Facebook page, which has only been up and running for a few months, this morning at 6.15 CET reached the 500,000 liker mark thanks to Giovanni Refugia Arceo from Colombia, while the company page has sailed past the 12.5 million mark. @insideferrari, the official Twitter account which, among other things, allows one to follow a race weekend in real time from inside the Maranello marque’s garage, has over 670,000 followers.


A plaque to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Tazio Nuvolari winning the 1938 Donington Grand Prix

The 12th of november at Donington Circuit will be unveiled a plaque to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Tazio Nuvolari winning the 1938 Donington Grand Prix, driving an Auto Union. This event is sponsored by Eberhard & Co. Swiss Watch Makers.
Nuvolari's 1934 car, a priceless Maserati 8CM from the Donington Grand Prix Collection, will also be present.

Bonhams sell ex-Tazio Nuvolari 1935 Alfa Romeo for world record breaking price

One of the most charismatic of all the great pre-war Grand Prix racing cars - the ex-Tazio Nuvolari 1935 Alfa Romeo Tipo C 8C-35 '50013' - Scuderia Ferrari Nr '65' sold for £5,937,500 at Bonhams Goodwood Revival Meeting, creating a new world record for an Alfa Romeo sold at auction. The previous record for this marque was £4,245,118 for a 1933 Alfa Romeo 8 cylinder Monza 2300 sold in California in 2010. Bonhams Goodwood Revival sale saw the iconic 330-horsepower supercharged Alfa Romeo Grand Prix car make history yet again at the scene of its best-remembered post-war exploits, Goodwood. Now '50013's pre-war record as a truly classic, race-winning Alfa Romeo, campaigned by that most revered of motor racing figures, Tazio Giorgio Nuvolari, has a new laurel - a world record price.

From September 19th to 22nd

30th July 2013- The famous regularity event for vintage cars, organized by Mantova Corse, Aci Mantova and Tazio Nuvolari Museum, is gaining an important number of enrollments, not only among the Italian pilots, but among the foreigner teams as well.
The 1000 km route, starting from Mantua and going across famous artistic cities like Siena, Arezzo, Ravenna and Ferrara, during the 2013 edition will see the passage through two racetracks, respectively in Modena and Imola at “Autodromo Dino ed Enzo Ferrari”, this one will be visited twice. They also will go through the Castle of Panzano, in the municipality of Castelfranco Emilia, owned by the well-known collector of classic cars and motorcycles Mario Righini.

The drivers will be able to admire the wonderful landscapes of Tuscany and to drive throughout old towns just like Modena, Siena (with a break at Castello di Brolio, tenuta Barone Ricasoli), Arezzo, Ravenna and Ferrara, starting from and getting to the heart of Mantua, Piazza Sordello.
Great expectations for the number of participants, as the number of registration makes one think, concerning both Italian and international participants.

The 27th edition will occur from September 19th to 22nd 2013, following the timetables of Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (F.I.A.), Federation Internationale Vehicules Anciens (F.I.V.A), Commissione Sportiva Automobilistica Italiana (C.S.A.I.) and Automotoclub Storico Italiano (A.S.I.).
The enrollments will be closed on July 31st.
